Understanding Your Payment Terms
Understand who pays your advertising revenue and when, depending on your Ad Manager Hub setup.
Your payment flow depends on your MCM setup: Managed Inventory or Managed Account.
The main difference is who receives the advertising revenue first:
- With Managed Inventory, Opti Digital receives the revenue and pays you.
- With Managed Account, Google pays your Google revenue directly, while Opti Digital pays the revenue collected from its demand partners.
Google follows a 25-day payment cycle, whether it pays the publisher or Opti Digital.
1) Managed Inventory: Net 45
With Managed Inventory, your inventory is monetized through Opti Digital's Google Ad Manager (GAM).
Google and other demand partners pay Opti Digital, and Opti Digital then pays your advertising revenue.
-
Payment flow
Google & demand partners → Opti Digital → Publisher
-
Payment terms: Net 45
This means Opti Digital pays you 45 days after the invoice date.
-
Example : For an invoice dated 31 January:
31 January → Invoice date
25 February → Google pays Opti Digital
17 March → Opti Digital pays the publisher
2) Managed Account: Net 60
With Managed Account, monetization takes place within your own Google Ad Manager.
The payment flow is split depending on the demand source.
-
Google revenue
Google pays your Google/AdX revenue directly to you on its standard 25-day payment cycle.
-
Opti Digital demand revenue
Revenue generated through applicable Opti Digital demand partners is collected by Opti Digital and paid to you according to Net 60 terms.
This means Opti Digital pays you 60 days after the invoice date.
-
Example
For an invoice dated 31 January:
31 January → Invoice date
25 February → Google pays Google/AdX revenue directly to the publisher
1 April → Opti Digital pays the applicable SSP revenue
3) What about Google Auto-Payment?
For eligible Managed Account setups, Google Auto-Payment can simplify the payment of Opti Digital's service commission.
Instead of the publisher receiving the Google revenue and then paying the applicable service commission separately, Google automatically splits the payment:
Google → Net advertising revenue to the Publisher
Google → Opti Digital service commission to Opti Digital
Both payments follow Google's 25-day payment cycle.
-
Example
For January revenue:
31 January → Revenue period closes
25 February → Google pays the publisher's net revenue directly to the publisher
25 February → Google pays Opti Digital's service commission directly to Opti Digital
No separate payment of this commission from the publisher to Opti Digital is required.
-
When is Auto-Payment available?
Auto-Payment can only be used when Opti Digital manages all of the publisher's advertising inventory within the publisher's GAM.
This is because Auto-Payment applies across the GAM and cannot be restricted to only part of the inventory. It applies to:
- All domains
- Open Auction
- Programmatic Deals
If Opti Digital manages only part of your advertising inventory, Auto-Payment cannot be activated for the Opti Digital service.
