Getting Started with Yield Hub

Find below a comprehensive onboarding and setup guide for enterprise publishers looking to implement Yield Hub, ensuring a smooth technical integration and accurate performance measurement.

Implementing an AI-driven dynamic pricing engine is a highly strategic move. While Yield Hub automates the complex task of floor pricing, setting the right technical foundations is critical to its success.

Deploying Yield Hub requires about two weeks for integration and four weeks to effectively scale up and train the machine learning models. When properly implemented, publishers see an average revenue uplift of +9%.

The onboarding process is broken down into two main phases: GAM Configuration and SDK/Script Installation. Here is exactly how to get started.

Step 1: Validating Prerequisites
Before any code is deployed, your ad stack must meet specific requirements to ensure the AI model can learn and optimize effectively.
  • Traffic Volume & Scale: Yield Hub relies on statistical modeling and precise segmentation. We recommend testing on properties that generate at least $1,000 in daily programmatic revenue. Furthermore, it must be applied to a full domain rather than a small, isolated share of traffic.
  • A Mature Programmatic Stack: The solution is designed specifically for programmatic demand (like Prebid and Amazon). It should be applied to inventories where direct campaigns do not entirely dominate deliveries.
  • The GAM Environment: You must disable Google’s "Optimized Pricing" at the network level, as it disrupts the A/B testing measurement. Additionally, avoid testing in environments heavily reliant on fixed CPM price priority line items, as they distort the AI's ability to track how SSPs react to floor adjustments.
Step 2: GAM Access and Configuration
To initiate the setup, your AdOps team must grant Opti Digital restricted API and User access to your Google Ad Manager (GAM) account.
Once access is granted, Opti Digital manages the heavy lifting within GAM. This includes:
  • Creating specific Custom Dimensions (Key-Values) such as Od_pf_group (to separate test and control traffic) and Od_pf_pb (price buckets).
  • Generating Unified Pricing Rules (UPRs) that correspond to each price bucket key-value.
  • Editing existing UPRs to ensure they do not accidentally override the optimal price floors predicted by Yield Hub.
Step 3: Script Integration and Wrapper Updates
The next step is to integrate the Yield Hub technology directly onto your pages.
  • The Yield Hub Script: A lightweight, asynchronous script (approximately 45 KB) must be inserted at the very top of your site's <HEAD> section, before your CMP tags. Because it is asynchronous and does not use cookies, it will not block ad requests or impact page latency.
  • Prebid Wrapper Updates: Your existing Prebid setup must be updated to include two mandatory modules: the FloorPrice module (which pushes the predicted floor to all called SSPs) and the Currency module (required if your main GAM currency is not USD).
  • Note for In-App: If you are monetizing native mobile apps, Yield Hub integrates via an HTTP API, retrieving floor prices in batches just before ad requests are made.
Step 4: Activating Yield Hub Second Look (Optional but Recommended)
Because Yield Hub dynamically raises floor prices to extract maximum value from buyers, it may occasionally lead to a higher volume of unfilled impressions.

To counter this, it is highly recommended to pair Yield Hub with our Backfill solution (Second Look). This triggers a secondary server-to-server auction for any unfilled impressions, monetizing missed opportunities with high-engagement Social Display ads.

This requires no extra ad serving costs, no complex setup beyond an ads.txt update, and guarantees no cannibalization of your primary AdX demand.

Step 5: Monitoring the A/B Test
Once live, Yield Hub operates on a continuous, permanent A/B test (Control Group vs. Test Group).
You can monitor the financial impact via your Dashboard, which provides 100% reliable, verifiable metrics tailored specifically to your inventory.

For full transparency, your team can also measure the uplift directly within GAM using a granular segment-by-segment calculation, guided by our specific reporting templates
